James ‘Jimmy Mac’ McLing

James "Jimmy Mac" McLing, 54, died Tuesday, June 26, 2001, of a heart attack.

A memorial gathering for friends and family will be held from 1 to 6 p.m. Saturday at Jimmy Mac’s Overtime Tavern in Eugene. Cremation arrangements were handled by Musgrove Family Mortuary of Eugene.

Mr. McLing was born March 24, 1947, in Klamath Falls. He married his life partner of 22 years, Susan Trulock, in Reno, Nev. in 1995.

Mr. McLing graduated from Klamath Union High School in 1965 and owned Jimmy Mac’s Overtime Tavern in Eugene. He also worked as an inspector for Tyco Fire and Security. His interests included golf, hunting, fishing, and reading.

Survivors include his wife; mother, Bette Phillips of Klamath Falls; brother and sister-in-law, Jerry and Dawn McLing of Klamath Falls and Joe and Melodee Phillips of Springfield; father- and mother-in-law, John and Gloria Solvason of Nevada City, Calif.; sister-in-law, Carol Hannan of Santa Clara, Calif.; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Judy and Bill Martin of Mexico, John and Carolyn Solvason of Eugene, Emma and Rod Erickson of Puyallup, Wash., and Jim and Darlene Solvason of Troy, Alabama; a daughter and son; four grandchildren; numerous uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Mr. McLing was preceded in death by his father, Harvey Keith McLing, and his stepfather, Clifford L. Phillips, as well as paternal and maternal grandparents.
