Solomon Hickman's farm In 1882 he had land in Clay County, Iowa described as: the SE 1/4 of Sect 2 in Twp 94 N of Range 36 W of the 5th PM. His sons John, George and William had farms close by on the road leading off to the right.
He is buried with his wife, Louisa in Burr Oak Cemetery, which is on a
secluded hill, surrounded by trees and reached by a little used road. |

The verse on his toumbstone reads: Not lost blest thought But gone before. Where we shall meet To part no more. |
