In 1914, the year in which World War I began, Rosa, Stewart and the three children (left to right; Pauline Belle, William Jacob and Catherine Elizabeth) moved out of Blackfoot, ID to the small town of Orland, in northern California. They wanted to try their hand at raising turkeys.
